Last week, a team of creative developers and designers from Odessa, Ukraine, launched their 3rd successful campaign on Kickstarter and managed to collect the required $3000 in 2 hours: the Ukrainian company presented a transformer dress under name Omnia. In a day, Omnia got support from 56 backers who brought $5800 to the project, most of them come from the USA, Canada, Singapore, Estonia, and Ukraine.
Omnia consists of three parts: a multi-configuration warp, a set of special magnets and a mantle attached to the warp with zippers and magnets. Such a specific design allows the creation of up to 100 various looks from a poncho to a cocktail dress. Omnia founders have already applied for a patent in the US.
According to the project CEO Evelina Smulskaya, the transformer dress is specially designed to facilitate contemporary women’s lives at least in terms of everyday fashion. One item will cost around $49-59 for Kickstarter fans and $99 at retail. In addition to standard options for sale, there are also opportunities for resellers. Omnia partners from abroad can order 5-10 dresses, which is a part of the special deal Omnia signed with Kickstarter.
Omnia dress is already the third Kickstarer project of the team of founders from Odessa! Before that, the guys impressed the Internet audience with a mobile phone holster (Phonster) that attracted $85 000 instead of $5000 required. A set of premium-class accessories for men also deserves certain attention, which is why it collected $14 000 out of required $8000.
The creative team consists of five people, each of whom is involved in another main activity outside the ‘design’ business. Maxim Gerasichev and Alexander Zubenko responsible for marketing and PR of the mentioned projects are actually working on brand promotion AGE. Artemii Gavr and Evelina Smulskaya are owners of a video studio Gavr Studio. Polina Timofeyeva, the key technology designer, works in one of Odessa law firms. According to Evelina, the guys get down to developing Kickstarter projects only when they are 100% sure in the idea. Overall, four people joined Omnia dress designing and then four more people helped with launching on Kickstarter. In total, it took them around six months.
The crowdfunding platform is a great investment opportunity for Odessa founders that woll be used for expansion of manufacture and promotion the product to a new level. As soon as the last Kickstarter backer receives their item, Omnia will perform sales via their own website.
