As you know, immediately after eighteen months of writing and editing, my new book, Ten Years a Nomad: A Traveler’s Journey Residence, came out final month.
In contrast to my preceding books, this is not a “how to guide” but a collection of recommendations, assistance, and stories from the road. It a memoir of my ten years backpacking the planet and the lessons I discovered along the way.
This book gets to the heart of wanderlust and what extended travel about the planet can teach us about life, ourselves, and our spot in the planet. (Or at least tries to.)
It is meant to show men and women that if I, a sheltered nerdy kid from a tiny town, could muster the courage to do this and survive, you can as well!
Cheryl Strayed named it inspiring. The Los Angeles Occasions mentioned, “This book is not just for travelers it is for any individual who has wanted extra and has taken off to uncover it.” Tony Wheeler, the founder of Lonely Planet, loved it. So did Rolf Potts.
And, extra importantly, thousands of readers who preserve sending me messages that they couldn’t place it down and it renewed their wanderlust. (For a writer, that is the ideal issue we can hear.)
More than the final month, I’ve completed a lot of interviews, videos, podcasts, and guest posts speaking not only about my book but how you can travel extra normally – and be a greater traveler when you do.

Right here are hyperlinks to invest in the new book:
Book Your Trip: Logistical Ideas and Tricks
Book Your Flight
Obtain a inexpensive flight by employing Skyscanner or Momondo. They are my two preferred search engines mainly because they search sites and airlines about the globe so you normally know no stone is left unturned.
Book Your Accommodation
You can book your hostel with Hostelworld as they have the biggest inventory. If you want to remain someplace other than a hostel, use Booking.com as they regularly return the least expensive prices for guesthouses and inexpensive hotels. I use them all the time.
Do not Overlook Travel Insurance coverage
Travel insurance coverage will defend you against illness, injury, theft, and cancellations. It is complete protection in case something goes incorrect. I never ever go on a trip with no it as I’ve had to use it numerous instances in the previous. I’ve been employing Globe Nomads for ten years. My preferred organizations that present the ideal service and worth are:
- Globe Nomads (for absolutely everyone under 70)
- Insure My Trip (for these more than 70)
