Do you require some seed funding for your app to launch or expand to new markets? Are you up for a stiff competition? Then welcome to the Dragon’s Den, a VentureOut Challenge competition in Moldova with a prize pool of $10 000 worth in seed funding. The event is going to run until November. The application process closes on September 2nd, so all of you out there interested in participating, apply fast and bring your a-game. Top 9 will be invited to Chisinau, Moldova to pitch for the prize.
During the event, the applicants are to demonstrate their app’s success and possibilities for expansion. Those who succeed will be offered mentorship by the best of the best in mobile apps business and an opportunity to attend TechCrunch Disrupt Europe in Berlin on October 26-29th.
This event certainly brings some attention on Moldova, which not that much famous for its tech achievements and tech startups. Still, the event is backed up by the World Bank and CRDF Global, so we might something very interesting come out.
Though the challenge is believed to be global, organizers say only African, Eastern European, and Central Asian countries applicants will be accepted.
The competition will surely be the stage for many ambitious startups to rise. For example, we might see some interesting Macedonian apps shine as the Macedonian YES Foundation has partnered with the event organizers. Which app will emerge victoriously and receive $10 000 in seed funding? That will be discovered on the challenge. We are sure the competition will be stiff and hot.
